Why “My Food Sirens II”? Well, my amateur blog is www.myfoodsirens.blogspot.com but for months, Blogger and my computer have been at odds with each other (eg. countless error pages, unable to upload photos etc etc). Hence the decision to find a new home for My Food Sirens. So voila, My Food Sirens II is born on 09/09/09!
In ancient Greek mythology, sirens are creatures with such sweet voices that sailors who heard their songs were lured into grounding their boats on the rocks on which the nymphs sang. To me, food are like the sirens in so many ways. Intoxicating, beautiful and yet, so very deadly if you let them get the better of you. Food is a big part of my life and it’s meant to be appreciated and savored slowly. I admit that I am extremely particular about what I eat (and DON’T eat).
There’s bound to be hits and misses in this gastronomical journey, perhaps more of the latter than former. And, pardon the cliche, change is the only constant in this world. A restaurant may be fabulous today but maybe wanting tomorrow. So, it’s all about living, or rather, eating in the moment!
